In the Applied Nuclear Physics group we are developing a sensor package to be flown on a small quadcopter. This package will combine a gamma-ray detector with a visual camera and GPS. Having all of these sensors allows us to create accurate activity maps by performing data fusion. This will allows us to create high fidelity 3-D models of a scene and localize the activity. This is especially useful for mapping the contamination in Fukushima, Japan which offers several unique challenges.
