University of California, Berkeley
Ali Hanks is an Associate Project Scientist in the Nuclear Engineering and Physics departments at the University of California Berkeley. She is part of the team working on the DoseNet project to build a network of dosimeter devices installed in Bay area schools. This network will connect students and schools with the university and provide data on background radiation levels for students to investigate. There are plans to expand this to include data on other environmental factors such as air quality and provide learning modules for teachers around data analysis and in-class experimentation with similar devices.
