Imaging Systems and Algorithms

The Imaging Systems and Algorithms Group is focused on developing radiation imaging systems for various applications including national defense, nuclear safeguards, nuclear non-proliferation and radiation treatment. We develop imaging hardware components, integrate systems and develop imaging algorithms and analysis software. Imaging systems developed by us will be used to map the radiation field in Fukushima, help IAEA inspectors automatically map the distribution and concentration of isotopes in nuclear facilities, help field personnel detect and locate weak signatures of threats, and allow much more precise and effective cancer therapies using proton beams.
